People always ask us “rethink what it means to be gay… what’s that about?”
Most often when you hear the word “gay, lesbian, transgender” people tend to cringe (even within the LGBT community). Why is that? It’s because our community is so used to being labeled to associate with negativity. It’s almost like we’ve reconciled to believe it’s true, that our differences rejected by society makes it right to settle for less.
Do these overstated assumptions define us?
If you ask us, we don’t see any difference. Who we love or what we do in our privacy does not define us. It’s our contributions to society that does.
When we hear “gay” we don’t feel guilty. We accept our existence. When you’re honest with yourself, you don’t try to be someone you’re not. You focus on your talents and contributions. Your successes in life will be contagious.
eXpression! magazine is challenging you to rethink the current situation.
